Yesterday we finally got to play last year’s Y7 County Cup Final.  Our team put in a fantastic performance, beating a strong Howard of Effingham side with 5 overs to spare.  Special shoutout to Dylan  who was named Man of the Match by the umpires! Well done to all the players!

Record breaking GCSE Results - 51% of all grades are Grade 7 and above (23% nationally). 33% of all grades are Grade 8 or 9. 234 grade 9s and 12 9-9 grades in Combined Science. 88% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths. 92% of grades are at G4 or above.

This week our STEM Explorers showcased some some incredible experiments, including: building a 24-hour analogue clock, designing a hoverboard & studying bacteria under UV radiation. Students proudly presented their findings on posters to students and staff.

Admissions Appeals

Parents have the right to appeal to an independent panel against the governors' decision not to offer a place.  If you are not offered a place at Hinchley Wood School and would like to lodge an appeal you should inform the Admissions Team at the school in writing, either by email to Mrs S Grealish, Admissions Manager: sgrealish@hinchleywoodschool.co.uk or by post to Admissions, Hinchley Wood School, Claygate Lane, Esher, Surrey KT10 0AQ.  The Admissions Team will then notify Surrey School Appeals Service who administer the appeals.

 NB: Appeals will not start being heard until after the relevant closing date has passed.

Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.  Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case 7 clear working days in advance of the hearing.

Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with their initial appeal, is received by 5pm on the day notified in the letter with details of the hearing.  Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.
 

In Year Admissions Appeals

In the event that we are unable to offer a place, there is an appeals procedure that gives a parent the right of appeal to an independent committee.  Notice of intent to lodge an appeal should be sent to Mrs S Grealish,  Admissions Manager Hinchley Wood School, Claygate Lane, Hinchley Wood, Surrey KT10 0AQ  in the first instance by email to sgrealish@hinchleywoodschool.co.uk.  Appeals for Hinchley Wood School are administered by Surrey Schools Appeals Service.  Appeals resulting from in year applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
