At the beginning of October, HWS students in Years 7–10 became the teachers for the day, delivering a carousel of fun, interactive sessions in languages from around the world to Year 6 pupils from Thames Ditton Junior School; languages included Arabic, Cantonese, Croatian, French, Greek, Polish and Japanese! It was a wonderful celebration of speaking a foreign language and a great example of our older students sharing their knowledge and inspiring the next generation of linguistic learners.
From learning months and numbers to directions and even football vocabulary, our Year 6 visitors experienced a mix of different languages — with a quick biscuit and hydration stop to keep them going!
