At this year's Year 13 Celebration Assembly, we were proud to present the inaugural A.T. Krestovnikoff Award for Computer Science.
The award has been established in memory of former Hinchley Wood School student Alex Krestovnikoff, whose passion for Computer Science inspired those around him. Through the generosity of Alex's family and friends, the award celebrates the dedication, enthusiasm and potential of students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the subject. Inspired by the prestigious Alan Turing Award, it serves as a lasting tribute to Alex's legacy while recognising excellence in Computer Science at Hinchley Wood School.
The inaugural recipient of the A.T. Krestovnikoff Award was Daniel P. Daniel was recognised not only for his academic excellence, but also for the outstanding contribution he has made to the department through his support of younger students, recruitment events and his role as an ambassador for Computer Science. His enthusiasm, generosity and commitment embody the values that this award seeks to celebrate.
With an exceptional Year 13 cohort, selecting the first recipient was no easy task. We were therefore pleased to make an Honourable Mention to Jakub B, recognising his remarkable journey through the school and his passion for Computer Science.
